People Complaining about how Dina's art not being megaman-like
Most if not all concept art never look like the finished result.
It’s fan art. It’s just a nice little idea.
For those who complain about her art
It is Okay to respectfully dislike it. That is your opinion. But it angers and breaks my heart when she is presented with the opportunity to improve her skills (hell she’s probably going to sky rocket into the sun being surrounded by all these pros) that the fan base wants to take that away from her. From anyone! As a JUNIOR CONCEPT DESIGNER this is her chance to learn the ins and outs of the industry. She will get better!
For those who complain about her being an amateur
Game companies also hire a ton of interns and Junior positions to not only help their company but to help these amateurs grow into professionals. Everyone everywhere was an amateur once upon a time.
For those whose complain about her lack of experience with Megaman.
Sit down because I’m about to blow your mind.
A lot of game companies…
…actually hire people that never played videos games.
Or even certain sorts of video games. They are actively looking for these kinds of people.
I know right? This is because they hope that these people will bring in a new kind of perspective to the game. That’s a good thing! Do you really want Mighty no. 9 to be an exact megaman clone? Of course not! New Eyes is a good thing!
For those who complained about her getting her job by using connections.
It’s called Networking. You do indeed need to know people on the inside to even get the chance at the job you want. Hell not even, Sometimes really nice people actually invite their friends into the project!
She still had to show a portfolio, go through an interview process and go through all the hoops to get this position. All because you had a friend on the inside does not mean a guaranteed job! Give the Devs some credit!
I wanted to do a helpful gift guide of my comic/graphic novel and book recommendations for 2013, buuuut I don’t have time. So here is the quick and dirty version! Below are all the comics and books I read this year (some not necessarily published this year) that I really enjoyed and I feel are worth purchasing and perhaps giving as a gift, either to friends, family or yourself. I tried to link to publisher websites when possible, but you can also find pretty much everything on this list on Amazon.
I try to give a graphic novel to most of my family members every Christmas, something they will hopefully enjoy and maybe will broaden their reading horizons a bit. Last year I gave my mom Aya, which she absolutely loved.
Fullmetal Alchemist volumes 1-27 by Hiromu Arakawa: I re-read FMA again this year (probably my 5th time) and it remains a spectacular series. Read it, I cannot recommend it enough. The FMA: Brotherhood anime is super weaksauce compared to the manga. Read the comic it’s so much better. (Also the 3-in-1 editions are super cheap.)
Vinland Saga by Makoto Yukimura: gritty, moving, occasionally hilarious comic about vikings. So happy to have a new adult manga to follow since the wrap-up of 20th Century Boys.
